Jason Johnson

Jason Johnson is Chief Data and Analytics Officer and SVP of Informatics and Analytics at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, where he has served for 7 years. Jason’s team at DFCI includes research informatics, clinical and business analytics, AI operations and data science services, bioinformatics, data governance and architecture, data warehousing, informatics support for clinical trials, scientific computing, and software engineering.

Prior to joining Dana-Farber, Jason was Head of R&D at PatientsLikeMe, a patient-focused research company in Cambridge, MA. He came to that position after 16 years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries in various leadership roles in computational sciences, informatics, IT, and genomics. His last role at Merck & Co., Inc. was Associate VP, Scientific Informatics.

Jason has undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Physics from Stanford University, a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Cambridge (UK), and a PhD in Biophysics from Harvard University.

Pratima Rao

Pratima brings more than 25 years of operational experience as a technical business leader in both semiconductor and life science/diagnostics companies. Her last role was as VP of Business Operations / Chief of Staff to the CEO of Illumina, an industry leader in genomics and DNA sequencing. Prior to that, she spent 4 years in various management roles and was the Oncology Product Development Lead at Invitae. Pratima is an entrepreneur at heart and was the COO and Co-founder of Genia Technologies, a nanopore-based DNA sequencing company that was acquired by Roche in 2014.  She has also held senior management positions at Maxim Integrated Products and Affymetrix. 

Pratima received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Stanford University. Previously, she was honored with the YWCA Silicon Valley Woman of the Year award and served as a SPADA advisor at Stanford.
